The green screen made its debut in the'30's t RKO Radio pictures, a once famous production outfit. Back then, the background color of choice was blue. CRO was first used and developed to give way for special effects in films. The first film to benefit from this is The Thief of Bagdad. Larry servant is credited for this film methodology. He even won an Academy Award for his work in the film The Thief of Bagdad.
