In the past, those of us who are old enough to remember, most likely had a collection of LPs. In the past, those of us who are old enough to remember, most likely had a collection of LPs. This, along with cassette tapes were all we knew, and using a record player, we could enjoy our songs without having to wait for them to come on the radio. Today, technology is so different that it barely resembles its former self.
Today, we carry around portable devices that hold our music library in a gadget that is only just larger than our thumb. The MP3 music player technology first surfaced in the mid-1980s and we would not see digital media player in its present state until the late 1990s, 1998 to be correct. But as soon as it arrived, it revolutionized the world of music forever.
MP3 audio players utilizes audio processing technology, to convert existing sound files to the MP3 format. The MP3 format consists of compressed audio files; audio that has been compressed into very small files that can fit onto and be read by an MP3 media player. The MP3 format achieves this compression without noticeably losing the sound quality.
In some instances, it can be possible, depending on the memory of the particular MP3 digital player, to fit thousands of songs on it. That's not all, because of its small size, an MP3 music player it can easily fit into handbags as well as coat pockets, and when you want something new to listen to you just simply add new or different songs to the MP3 media player
The MP3 digital player transfers digital files via the use of a computer. The most fashionable variation of the MP3 music player is the iPod, which has made connecting to a computer simple and handy for users using the iTunes software. Even though many other MP3 audio player manufactures use Windows Media Player to connect their player to a computer.
With a computer, users can either upload their favorite CDs that can then be downloaded onto the MP3 music players, or they can purchase songs online and then download them to the device. Apple's iTunes Music Store, is the most commonly used musical resource for buying and downloading songs.
But aside from the convenience of downloading music, the MP3 music player is widely valued for its portability. It can be plugged into your car and played through your cars audio system, or radio with an FM transmitter, plugged into earphones and played while you do exercises, or connect to portable speakers and played throughout your home. In any case, the MP3 music player is the most comprehensive piece of equipment available on the market today to play music.
