Documentaries are meant to inform us and make us think about uncommon situations and conditions. They are intended to enlighten us but they often entertain us, because documentaries can be some of the best movies out there.
There are a a small number of documentaries that they say every person must see. "An Inconvenient Truth" falls into that class. "An Inconvenient Truth" deals with a subject that affects each and every one of us and the lives or our offspring and grandchildren. It is an easier to make the alternative to be more green when you essentially see the destruction of global warming.
Along with the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" is the TV series, "Planet Earth". If you have not had the occasion to watch this remarkable series you need to download and get it now. It is wonderful, striking and it will often take your breath away. We really do live on an amazing earth.
Doubtless the most celebrated documentary filmmaker at the moment is Michael Moore. You may or may not agree with his politics but his movies are positively challenging. He won an academy award for "Fahrenheit 9/11" and he has also brought us such movies as "Sicko", "Bowling for Columbine" and he has a new movie coming out called "Slacker Uprising" that you will be able to download for free when it comes out later on.

The chick-flicks are the movies that persons have a propensity to watch again and again. Try "Sweet Home Alabama" or "Just Like Heaven" if you like Reese Witherspoon. "What Happens In Vegas" was a fun chick-flick from 2008. And there are some older favorites like "Sleepless in Seattle" and "Fools Rush In". Seems that every person has a preferred chick flick.
